Foot Protectors are a unique product designed specifically to minimise the risk of pressure damage to heels. A significant proportion of pressure ulcers occur on the heels due to a combination of pressure and friction/shear. Whilst support surfaces assist in reducing pressure, only a specific device such as the Repose® Foot Protector can ensure that pressure on the foot is relieved totally. Clinical studies have shown the heel Protectors to be effective in a wide variety of settings. Designed for use in bed or with the feet elevated. Supplied with Repose® pump which quickly and automatically inflates the boots to the correct pressure in one minute. After inflation, place the feet/legs gently into the air filled boots. Can be easily secured with a stocking or light bandage. Heels are supported above a void resulting in no pressure on the heel. Vapour-permeable, transparent material makes it easy to monitor skin condition and the malleoli are protected by air-filled compartments. Can be used with any other pressure care system, whether dynamic or static. Sold in pairs. Not suitable for use with feet/heels resting on the floor or when walking. Clean with soap and water and, if necessary, with a chlorine-based disinfectant. Overall size each boot: L380 x W200 x H180mm (15 x 8 x 7"). Repose has been tested to conform with BS: 7175 Crib Test 5, (Methods of test for the ignitability of bedcovers and pillows by smouldering and flaming ignition sources).
