Product Description This NRS Healthcare M66429 Community Bed Grab Rail Handle for Metal Profiling Beds helps a person with mobility difficulties to sit up and rise from bed more easily. It is specially designed to fit the framework of a metal profiling bed. It helps a person who usually finds it difficult to sit up, reposition themselves and stand up from the bed. It also helps the person to transfer themselves more easily from the bed to another seated position, for example, a wheelchair or commode. The handle measures 495 millimetres (19½ inches) in height and 275 millimetres (11 inches) in width. It is made from coated steel for strength, and is supplied in white. It is ergonomically designed with a horizontal and vertical hand hold within the main tubular frame, which allows the person in bed to hold the rail in various positions as they rise. You can 'climb' your hands from one position to the next to help make pulling yourself up to a sitting position easier. The smooth, tubular handles measure approximately 25 millimetres (1 inch) in diameter and there is enough space in between the handles to give room for a full grip. The handles are comfortable and safe to hold even for a person with hand impairments or poor grip. There is no fiddly installation or tools required to fit the handle to the bed. It is supplied fully assembled and simply clamps to the bed frame using easy to turn hand wheels. The handle can be used even if the bed already has cotsides/integral side rails, and it will not interfere with the usage of these. The rail is easy to clean with a soft cloth and mild disinfectant. The maximum user weight is 180 kilogram (28 stone) and the rail is only suitable for use by adults (not suitable for use by a child).
