The Net-Tex Calmer was formally known as Carl Hester Pro Mag calmer. It contains two types of magnesium. The first compound is a very small amino acid that when dissolved is readily absorbed through the intestine wall and quickly builds up magnesium in the body for a rapid calming effect. The second compound, magnesium aspartate is regarded as the Aston Martin of magnesium salts. It is quickly absorbed and will keep magnesium levels topped up so horses and ponies will stay and remain calm on a long term basis. These two compounds have been chosen over other traditional forms of magnesium such as sulphate, calcium magnesite and magnesium oxide because they can deliver 12mg of magnesium per feed which is the most a horse can store at a quicker absorption rate.
