Vitamin D is produced by the body when the skin is exposed to sunlight. Unfortunately, for much of the year, it is difficult to get adequate amounts of vitamin D from sunlight. As a result, the UK Department of Health recommends that all infants and children should take a vitamin D supplement. Natures Aid Vitamin D3 Mini Drops is an award-winning supplement for breastfed babies, infants and children from new-born to five years. Drops provide 400 iu vitamin D3 per dose–the daily recommended amount. Drops can be easily added to milk, formula, juice or water. Mini Drops was the UK’s first 100 percent sugar free range of children’s supplements, and the range contains no artificial flavours or colours. Our liquid drops help to bypass the choking hazard presented by tablets, with none of the sugar or additives associated with gummies. Directions for use: Infants and children from newborn to five years old: Take one ml daily. Shake well before use and clean dropper thoroughly after each use with cooled boiled water. Place drops onto mothers nipple or a pacifier and allow baby to suck for 30 seconds, or mix with formula, juice or food. Not suitable for infants consuming 500 ml or more of formula milks a day. Directions Infants and children aged 1 month to 5 years old: Take one 0.5ml 1-2 times daily. Safety Warning Vitamin D has the greatest potential for toxicity of all the vitamins, though amounts up to 1000mcg are generally agreed to be safe in adults. Younger adults or children may supplement up to 400iu daily. Vitamin D is theoretically contraindicated while taking warfarin (albeit no case of increased bleeding has ever been reported) and verapamil medications. Oestrogen-based hormone medications may increase blood levels of vitamin D (and hence improve bone density).
