Product Description Description Biotechnical measure to catch the codling moth during his flight time. The codling moth is 8mm long, grey with black stripes and clear copper spots on the wing tips. The pheromone (sexual attractant released in nature by female codling moths) lures male moths of the codling moth into a trap with glue base to which they stick. Thus, the females remain unfertilized and do not lay eggs from which the harmful caterpillars (fruit maggots) can hatch. The trap is dyed green so that no attraction of beneficial insects occurs, the sex attractant especially attracts codling moth men. Experience has shown that sufficient infestation reduction is achieved if a trap is used for 3 to 5 trees standing in direct vicinity. For the Naturen fruit maggot trap, there is also a practical retrofit set on the market. Instructions for use: Application time: April - August. Hang the trap at head height from mid-May in airy place next to the trees to be protected. Change the glue bases and pheromone capsules after 5 to 6 weeks. The pheromone is located on the outside of the capsule. It is invisible and odourless. Remove trap body early September and store dry for next year use. In the coming year, you can equip the trap with the inexpensive retrofit kit. Set up the trap: Do not open the bag of pheromone capsules until the application is done. Unfold the glue base, remove the pheromone capsule from the aluminium bag, place in the middle of the glue base. Then slide the glue base into the trap, place the other side flap and fasten. Unfold the trap body. Place a side flap and insert the tabs into the slots provided. Attach the hanging wire to the trap and hang the finished trap.
