The Monterey Cypress 'Wilma' - Cupressus macrocarpa 'Wilma' is a brilliant choice for smaller gardens. This compact, golden conifer forms a neat, rounded ball shape without any need for pruning. The foliage is a bright, cheerful yellow that really shines in winter gardens when other plants are dormant. Unlike its parent tree, 'Wilma' stays naturally small and compact, usually reaching just 1-2 metres over many years. The tiny leaves are packed tightly together, creating a dense, almost fluffy appearance. When crushed, the foliage gives off a lovely lemony scent. It's particularly good for adding year-round colour and structure to gardens. The foliage keeps its golden colour throughout the year, though it might show hints of lime green in summer. It works brilliantly in pots on patios or as a bright spot in borders. This dwarf variety gives you all the charm of a Monterey Cypress but in a size that suits modern gardens.
