Our vase is a copy of a Minoan rhyton with nautilus, coral and seaweed design, Phaistos Palace 1500-1450 BC which is exhibited in Heraklion Archaeological Museum. Nautilus swim among rocks, corals and sea weeds. Marine style, an innovation of Cretan pottery, developed around 1500 BC and characterized by the depiction of sea creatures. starfishes, coral, triton shells and octopus.
