Melcourt Horticultural Silver Sand is used by both the horticultural industry and household gardeners alike to improve the drainage of potting compost and lawns, reduce damp and help boost the germination of seeds. Washed, lime free and ready to use immediately. Please note: While the name Silver Sand intuitively indicates that this sand should be silver in colour, this is not always the case. The name Silver Sand primarily indicates a small grain sand with even particle size and low salts, suitable for use as a horticultural substrate. Today sand that is silver in colour is rare. This Melcourt Silver Sand is a buff colour, darker when wet, lighter when dry. It is an excellent quality product, suitable for horticultural use.
