Melancholie

The baritone Christian Gerhaher continues on the course of success: after the much-praised debut on Arte Nova (last the great Schubert cycles), another release on Rca Red Seal: a selection of songs Robert Schumann that mainly revolve around the theme circle "Melancholie", including the "Eichendorff" songs op. 39, the harper vocals as well as the song cycles Op. 36 and Op. 40 (after Andersen and Adalbert of Chamisso). Christian Gerhaher received the Echo Klassik 2009 as Singer of the Year for this CD. In addition, he won the award as best song album for "melancholy" at the BBC Music Award 2009.
