Product Description Get the best nights sleep of your life and ease away neck problems. The unique Mediflow pillow provides outstanding comfort and responsive support for the head and neck. The Mediflow Waterbase Pillow is very different from any other pillow you have ever tried. The pillow has been designed in Canada by a team of Chiropractors and Orthopaedic Surgeons for all problems such as sleep difficulty, frequent waking and morning-after neck and head pain. How is the Mediflow pillow constructed? The pillow is made up of two integral segments: a) An upper cushion layer made of a regular super-soft hypo-allergenic polyester hollow fibre which is breathable, cool and comfortable, which floats over a Waterbase layer. b) A Waterbase layer containing a water compartment welded integrally to the fibre pillow. This is an essential component of the comfort and functionality of the pillow. This water compartment is fully encased by a thermal insulator. 1. A 10cm layer of super-soft hypo-allergenic DuPont polyester fibre floats over the top of a water chamber. 2. A thermal insulating layer, as developed at NASA in the United States as part of the space programme, fully encases the water chamber preventing any heat loss between the user and the water bag. 3. A water pouch secured firmly to the base of the pillow providing the responsive head and neck support and forming the base of the pillow. How does the Mediflow pillow work? The unique aspect of this pillow lies in the Waterbase layer. By means of increasing or decreasing the amount of water in this compartment, the user can adjust the height and firmness of the pillow to the "exact" degree of comfort, firmness or softness required. Easy to follow instructions (link on this page) come with the pillow which show you how to fill the pillow and how much water to add for soft, medium or firm support. Use ordinary tap water. No chemical additives are required. Most importantly, the weight of the user's head on the pillow causes the water to rise on either side of the neck forming a perfect "cradle" for the head and neck. (i.e. the water forms the shape of the pillow which instantly contours and supports the user's head and neck exactly as your body moves during the night). This not possible with any other pillow, including memory foam which takes at least a few seconds to re-adjust and the user can easily wake in this time. No matter how frequently you move on the pillow, the water being fluid, instantly reforms and adjusts to the shape of your head and neck, and as a result one does not waken as often or at all during the night. Due to the fact that one's neck has been perfectly supported during the night, you should not have any pain in the morning. A number of clinical tests* have been undertaken on the Mediflow pillow in the USA and Canada including one at the well-respected Johns Hopkins University Hospital, where the superiority of the Mediflow pillow compared with other pillows was conclusively proven.
