DESCRIPTION: Serrated lock washers provide excellent resistance to loosening. Please note that these washers come in two different types - internal toothed and external toothed. And when it comes to loosening resistance, the externally toothed washer does a better job than an internally toothed washer. But the internally toothed washer comes with greater locking abilities. The internally toothed washer, as the name suggests, has small projections on its inner side while the outer toothed washer has small projections on its outer diameter. In both cases, the teeth bite into the joint material and create a holding pressure that doesn't loosen even during continuous vibrations. Note: Single-part serrated washers can damage painted/coated surfaces because they have a tendency to rotate with the fastener.
