Product description
Lupin 'Dwarf Gallery Mixed' is a vibrant and compact variety bred for its neat, bushy habit and prolific early summer blooms. This hardy perennial forms low-growing clumps, ideal for brightening the front of borders or planting in patio containers. A member of the popular ‘Gallery’ series, it features a colourful mix of upright flower spikes above attractive palmate foliage. Reaching a modest height of just 50cm (20") and a spread of 30cm (12"), this variety is particularly suitable for small spaces. It's easy to grow from seed and returns year after year, offering long-lasting seasonal interest. Sow indoors from spring to early summer. Soak seeds overnight before sowing. Germinate at 18–20°C (64–68°F) on the surface of free-draining compost. Lightly cover with compost or vermiculite to a depth of 3mm (1/8in). Place in a propagator or seal in a clear polythene bag until germination, which typically takes 18–21 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm (3in) pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Once all risk of frost has passed, plant outdoors 30cm (12in) apart. Water and feed regularly while plants establish. Deadheading encourages further blooms. Caution: harmful if eaten. Images shown are for guidance only and show the expected results of plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months). Decorative pots are not supplied.
