Product Description Tortoises often retreat into hiding places and dig in to await unfavourable weather periods. There are even temperatures and a slightly higher air or substrate humidity. So that land turtles can pursue this natural behaviour even in the terrarium, this special substrate was developed in collaboration with well-known turtle breeders and zoological facilities. Lucky Reptile Tortoise Bedding keeps moisture, remains stable, yet loose and does not mould. It is not only odourless, but actively binds odours. Thanks to its soft, fibre-rich structure and the absence of sand, it does not harm if it is accidentally eaten and benefits the healthy tank development of the turtles. This avoids dull, rubbed tanks. Thanks to its airy and loose structure, Tortoise Bedding insulates and absorbs temperature fluctuations when the animals are buried. Added natural clay minerals ensure a consistent substrate moisture, which is why turtles often accept as an egg deposit substrate. For the same reasons, it is an excellent wintering substrate - not only in outdoor terrarium! The pH value has been specially adapted to the needs of turtles and does not contain any additives of fertilisers or other chemical additives.
