As an artist, Arne Clausen is versatile. He rarely insisted on certain forms of expression, experimenting with floor art, jewelry, illustrations, and poetry. Although he is the father of one of Scandinavia's greatest design successes, he has been an unknown name for decades. It was not until 2008 that a Norwegian archivist began to track down the inventor of the lotus pattern, and Clausen became a term and enjoyed high reputation among the public.
