Building a Multi-Tiered Cake To provide your cake with the necessary structure and support, use Loyal Bakeware dowels and tools. 1. Start by using the Loyal Precision Plate to find and mark the center of your Masonite Cake Board. Then peel and stick 1 Loyal Dowel Mount to the center of the Cake Board and insert 1 Large Cake Dowel into the mount. Apply a thin layer of icing to the surface of your board to act as a glue, then slide your base cake layer over your center dowel down to the board. 2. For tiered cakes, decorate your upper layer cakes on a Loyal Perforated Cardboard with the center popped out. Insert 1 Small Cake Dowel into your cake, mark the height and remove. Use this dowel to mark the remaining dowels and cut them with the Loyal Dowel Cutter. Repeat this step for each layer with at least 4 dowels per tier. 3. Once all your dowels are cut, mark out 4 spots in a square around the center of your cake, ensuring these marks are no wider than the layer above, and insert your Small Dowels as marked. 4. When ready to stack, guide your cake over the Large Cake Dowel using the Perforated hole. Carefully slide the Large Dowel through the hole until your board rests on the supported tier below. Your center Dowel will hold your cake centrally to the board with your Small Cake Dowels supporting the weight of the upper tiers.
