Described as "wonderful stuff" by Radio 2 presenter Bob Harris,'Louisa & The Devil' is the debut album from established four-piece The Dodge Brothers. A decade of live performance has honed the Hampshire-based quartet into a uniquely tight yet relaxed ensemble. The line-up is Mark Kermode (bass, harmonica, vocals), Aly Hirji (rhythm guitar, mandolin, vocals), Alex Hammond (washboard, snare drum, percussion) and Mike Hammond (lead guitar, lead vocals). The music is a hybrid of country blues and rockabilly and the album includes a guest appearance by Billy Lunn of The Subways. Songs of love, death, and railroads are performed on joyous guitars, thumping double bass and washboard with heartfelt harmonies and vocal virtuosity. The Dodge Brothers have presented their potent musical brew on BBC2's Culture Show, winning the programme's Busking Challenge. As well as regularly gigging (including two shows at London's Borderline), The Dodge Brothers played Cropredy and Larmer Tree festivals this year. The release of Louisa & The Devil will be supported by a full PR campaign.
