A Lodger Licence Agreement is a residential tenancy agreement setting out the terms upon which a Lodger can occupy a property. The Lodger Licence Agreement provides the Lodger with a licence to occupy a residential property for a short period of time, usually between 6 to 12 months. The Lodger is provided with a room in the property but not exclusive possession of either the room or the property. Furthermore, the Lodger has very limited legal rights as Lodgers are not regarded as Tenants and consequently do not have the same rights and statutory protection afforded to Tenants.
