Manuka honey is produced by bees who harvest nectar from the blossoms of the Manuka Tree [ Leptospermum scoparium ] in New Zealand. The shrub-like tree is sometimes known as the Manuka Myrtle or New Zealand Tea Tree. It has mild anti-bacterial/anti-microbial properties, which is why it has become popular.
