Product Description This compact unit accepts video signals via DVI-D input and converts it into a DisplayPort signal. This allows DVI-D equipped workstations or PC’s to be connected to modern DisplayPort monitors, with support for DVI-D single link resolutions up to 1200p 60Hz (1920x1200). Due to its lower power design the converter can typically be powered from a PC’s DVI-D port, in cases where the power output of the DVI-D port is insufficient (lower than 450mW) the integrated USB cable can be connected to a USB port or USB power supply to power the converter. Important: Modern Thunderbolt equipped high resolution Apple displays (i.e. 27" display) can only support resolutions up to 720p via DisplayPort/Mini DisplayPort. This also applies to any video signal converters/adapters. It appears these Apple monitors do not support high resolutions above 720p via their DP EDID protocol, but only via Thunderbolt EDID protocol.
