Legend Saleratus is a zero phosphate buffer to lower pH and buffer with Legend Al-Qali. Both buffers are designed for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae or cloudiness problem. Legend Saleratus lowers pH and buffers between 5.0 and 8.0 when used with Legend Al-Qali. As Legend Saleratus lowers pH it converts carbonate alkalinity (KH) into available CO2. To lower pH, 5mL scoop (1 level teaspoon) of Legend Saleratus for every 100 L (26.5 US gallons) daily until desired pH is reached (this dose lowers alkalinity by about 0.6 meq/L (1.7 dKH)).
