Product description
Listing is for small in vitro plants. Lagenandra meeboldii ‘Red’ is a beautifully coloured aquarium plant noted for its rich bronze, pink or reddish leaves that become more intense under strong light conditions. It produces broad, leathery foliage with elegant curvature, adding dramatic structure and colour contrast to aquascapes. This species sits low to medium in height, making it ideal for midground placement where individual leaves can be appreciated in detail. It thrives under low to moderate lighting, and its colours become deeper and more saturated in stronger lighting with stable nutrient supply. Like Cryptocoryne, Lagenandra meeboldii grows from a rhizome or crown and should be planted carefully into a nutrient-rich substrate to support healthy growth. CO₂ is optional but can help with leaf size and new growth development. The plant is slow to moderate in growth and is easy to maintain, responding well to gentle trimming of older leaves. When growing in stable aquariums, it forms a striking cluster that remains highly decorative long term. Its strong presence and unusual tones make it an excellent centrepiece for nature-style layouts and planted aquariums.
