• ESD can also build up in other workshop and everyday environments when metals or fabrics come into close contact. Examples are experiencing a small shock when getting out of a car with fabric seats and touching the metal door, rubbing a balloon on a jumper or, touching the inside of a dishwasher after it has been in use.
• The elasticated wristband has a metal plate on the inside connected to the terminal and there are also conductive threads in the band. The cord comfortable extends up to one metre. The crocodile clip attaches over a banana plug and can be detached if required.
• The metal plate on the inside of the band must be touching your bare skin. Attach the flexible cable to the terminal connector on the outside of the strap. Finally, connect the Alligator clip to an earthed item (for example the case of the computer you are working on or a radiator close by). You will now be grounded whilst working on the sensitive electronics within any system. DO NOT attach yourself to an item that is connected to the mains power supply.
