Bamboo charcoal is used as a water filter, it can clean water, mineralise and neutralise the taste and smell of the water. How it works: Resulting from an ancient Japanese knowledge, the bamboo is fired for 3 days in an oven between 800 °C and 1000 °C. This slow burning at a very high temperature allows the development of millions of pores that act as an adsorber. Use: Before each first use, it is important to clean the bamboo charcoal stick under clear water. Then activate it by boiling it in water for at least 15 minutes. Then it should air dry. Place the stick in a tap water filled bottle or carafe and leave to soak for at least 1 hour (for maximum water purification, you can soak the stick for up to 4 hours). Remember to reactivate your bamboo stick after one or two month use by boiling it again for about fifteen minutes. After 6 months of use, your bamboo stick has arrived at the end of its lifespan. Then it's time to recycle them! Simply use it as a fertiliser for your plants, but also as a deodoriser for your cabinets.
