In 17th-century Japan, ninja Kamui (Ken'ichi Matsuyama) decides that he wants to leave the lethal laws of the ninja fraternity behind him and seek true personal freedom. Unfortunately, Kamui knows only too well that the only escape from the ninja fraternity is through death.
