• Place the tester on the socket as you would a CPU, insert a battery in the black slot shown in the photo (a motherboard battery), and check that all the LEDs light up equally brightly: if any LED remains off or glows abnormally, you have detected a circuit problem!

Allows you to test whether all the contactors in a socket are in good condition. Instant visual test thanks to a tray of LEDs. FOR SOCKET 988 Operating mode: - Insert a battery into the tester (battery not supplied but you can use the motherboard battery for the duration of the test!) then position the tester on the socket as you would the processor, - Press the small button on the tester and view the LEDs. They should all have the same brightness: an LED that is too dark may indicate an open circuit, while one that is too bright may indicate a short circuit. Each tester comes with a paper diagram of the socket under test.
