K2AQUA Bucephalandra Pygmy Live Aquarium Plant Tiny Iridescent Leaves Easy Care Low Light Epiphyte Foreground Nano Tank Shrimp Safe Freshwater Plant
About this item
- EXTRA SMALL IRIDESCENT LEAVES FOR NANO TANK DETAIL AND FINESSE: Bucephalandra Pygmy features some of the tiniest foliage among Buce varieties, with shiny dark green to blue-toned leaves that add intricate beauty to nano tanks and foreground layouts.
- IDEAL FOR LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS โ CO2 OPTIONAL FOR IMPROVED COLOUR: Grows steadily in low-tech environments, but responds positively to COโ and liquid fertilisers with brighter colouration and a more compact, clustered growth habit.
- MUST BE ATTACHED TO HARD SURFACES โ NEVER PLANT THE RHIZOME: The plant should be tied to wood, lava rock, or aquarium decorations with cotton thread or fishing line. Burying the rhizome may lead to rot, while exposed mounting allows healthy root development.
- PERFECTLY SHRIMP SAFE โ PROVIDES COVER AND NATURAL GRAZING SURFACE: Its miniature leaves offer shelter for shrimp and fry while also functioning as a biofilm-friendly surface, supporting a healthy micro-ecosystem in peaceful aquariums.
- SLOW GROWING AND LOW MAINTENANCE โ EXCELLENT FOR DETAILED SCAPES: Bucephalandra Pygmy requires minimal trimming and holds its shape well over time, making it a favourite for aquascapers who value fine detail and stability in small spaces.
Product description
Bucephalandra Pygmy is one of the smallest and most compact Bucephalandra varieties, perfect for nano aquariums and detailed aquascapes. Its tiny, rounded leaves display a subtle metallic iridescence, ranging in colour from dark green to bluish tones depending on the lighting. Due to its minute size and tidy growth, it is ideal for creating fine accents on driftwood, rocks, or hardscape details. As with all Bucephalandra species, Pygmy is a rhizome-based epiphyte and should be attached to hard surfaces such as wood or stoneโnever planted directly into substrate. It thrives in low to moderate light and does not require COโ, though the addition of COโ and nutrients can enhance colour vibrancy and growth structure. It is very slow growing, incredibly hardy, and completely safe for shrimp and nano fish, making it a top choice for those seeking fine texture and rare, lasting beauty in compact or highly detailed aquascapes.
