Juraperle Filter Media - 25kg Bag

Juraperle is a blend of naturally occurring calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate. This sacrificial media will dissolve in the water over time. It is converted from the free CO2 in the water adding small amounts of calcium and magnesium when dissolved to raise the pH to a level no higher than 7. However, it is only effective from a pH that is already around 6. It cannot correct from lower than that. Because the media is sacrificial we recommend topping up every 12 months, we also recommend that the unit is fitted with a backwashing valve. This will help remove any heavy metals that have been deposited in the unit over time, and also stop channelling of the media increasing its effectiveness.
