John Dee (1527 - 1608)

John Dee (1527 - 1608) was an English/Welsh polymath who displayed his genius as a mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, alchemist, natural philosopher and adviser to Queen Elizabeth I. He also contributed to the creation of the British Empire, amassed one of the largest libraries in England and dedicated his latter years to communing with angelic beings with the help of Edward Kelley.
