Writer-director Victor Salva (Powder) emphasises primal fear over logic, but plot holes are easily forgiven when you're scared out of your socks. The schlock-horror soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and although the film predominantly relies on back-to-basics shock tactics, the audio track handles the balance of subtle dialogue and dramatic crescendos well. The DVD is also packed full of cultish extras. There are six featurettes, which add up to about an hour of documentary footage bringing together all the aspects of the production process from audition tapes, artwork, behind the scenes stuff and even a documentary on the film's two other "stars" the twins' 1960s Impala car, and the creeper's van. There is also a healthy spattering of deleted scenes an audio commentary by writer/director Victor Salva, trailers and a photo gallery. --Kristen Bowditch END Product Description American horror in which siblings Trish and Darry Jenner (Gina Philips and Justin Long) accidentally discover an underground cavern full of damaged body parts and soon find themselves running for their lives. They plead the police for help but when two officers drive out to take a look at the cavern, they quickly become the victims of a supernatural assailant known as the Creeper (Jonathan Breck). Trish and Darry then flee to the safety of a nearby house, but the Creeper is on their trail and refuses to give up the chase.
