About this item
- CREATE STRIKING CYANOTYPE PRINTS: Combine this Ferric Ammonium Citrate with Potassium Ferricyanide (sold separately) to make a light-sensitive solution for traditional sun printing. Apply the sensitizer to paper or natural fabrics, expose to UV light, and develop with water to produce detailed Prussian blue images.
- VERSATILE APPLICATION ON MULTIPLE SURFACES: Designed for use on a wide range of porous materials. This solution adheres well to watercolour paper, cotton, linen, silk, and other natural fibres, allowing you to create unique blueprints on both paper and textiles. This versatility lets you expand your creative projects.

The 8oz container provides a substantial amount for numerous projects, suitable for both beginners learning sun printing and experienced artists working on a larger scale.
- ACHIEVE HIGH-CONTRAST IMAGES: Formulated to produce sharp lines and a rich tonal range in your final prints. When used correctly, the sensitizer captures fine details from negatives or objects placed on the surface during exposure. This ensures your finished cyanotypes have depth and clarity, showcasing intricate patterns.

Product description
Product Specifications Brand: Jacquard Product: Ferric Ammonium Citrate Chemical Type: Light-Sensitive Iron Salt Form: Crystalline Powder Net Weight: 8 oz (227g) Container Material: Opaque Plastic Jar with Screw-Top Lid Intended Use and Application This product is a chemical component used for the traditional cyanotype photographic process, also known as sun printing or blueprinting. It functions as Part A of a two-part sensitizer solution. When combined with Part B, Potassium Ferricyanide (not included), it creates a UV-sensitive emulsion. This emulsion can be applied to absorbent, natural surfaces such as watercolour paper, cotton, linen, silk, or wood. It is intended for use by artists, photographers, and crafters for creating permanent, detailed images in a Prussian blue hue. Preparation and Usage Instructions For cyanotype sensitizer, prepare two separate stock solutions using distilled water. Dissolve 25 grams of Ferric Ammonium Citrate in 100ml of water for Solution A. In a separate container, prepare Solution B with Potassium Ferricyanide. In subdued light, mix equal parts of Solution A and Solution B. Coat your chosen material evenly with the mixture and allow it to dry completely in a dark area. Place objects or a photographic negative on the sensitised surface and expose to a UV light source, such as direct sunlight. After exposure, rinse the material in a tray of cool water for several minutes until the unexposed emulsion is gone. Allow the print to air dry. Package Contents 1 x Jacquard Ferric Ammonium Citrate 8oz (227g) Jar.
