Plastic model to assemble and paint, glue and colors not included. The Northrop F-5 was born in the 1960s to meet the needs of many NATO countries requiring a simple, economic and easy to maintain. At the beginning of the 1970s, the improved version was developed, called F-5E Tiger II, which was characterized by the adoption of General Electric J85 thrusters capable of providing a much higher thrust. Compared to the first F-5, Tiger II have a more elongated fuselage, greater operating autonomy and optimized avionics to fulfill the primary role of air defense hunting. The basic armament consists of two 20 mm guns, installed in the snout under the cabin, and the possibility of using various combinations of air-to-air missiles. The F-5E has had a great commercial success. It was also licensed in Switzerland, Taiwan and South Korea.
