It was characterised by a simple design, with low delta wings and small side vents, but extremely functional for operational applications. Derived as an evolution from the original layout, the OA-4M Skyhawk is a two-seater lightweight attack and advanced training version designed to meet the operational needs of the United States Marine Corps. Developed by McDonnell Douglas in the 1970s, the OA-4M was born with the aim of supporting single-seaters in missions of tactical support, reconnaissance and operational training of pilots.
