Product Description In order to better meet the logistical and transport requirements under the difficult environmental conditions on the Eastern Front, chain tractors were developed for the Wehrmacht that were able to pull numerous types of vehicles and transport various loads, including ammunition and food. The official name of this extremely flexible vehicle series was "Caterpillar Tractor East" (RSO). The RSO was predominantly built by the Austrian company Steyr, which also developed an anti-tank version that was easy and inexpensive to produce and was armed with the reliable and dreaded 75mm PaK40 gun. The vehicle had essentially the same technical structure as the tractor, but was equipped with reinforced front protection to account for use in direct enemy contact.
