Description This is a pack of four I'M BACKING BRITAIN badges. The phrase I'M BACKING BRITAIN was coined for a patriotic campaign in early 1968, which was aimed at boosting the British economy. The campaign started spontaneously when five Surbiton secretaries volunteered to work an extra half-hour each day without pay to boost productivity and urged others to do the same. The invitation received an enormous response and a campaign took off spectacularly; it became a nationwide movement within a week. Since the EU referendum in 2016, there has been a resurgence of interest in "Buying British", with numerous groups forming on social media to promote products manufactured in the UK. The benefit of buying British made products is that the money stays in the UK, supporting British businesses, families, and the UK economy as a whole, whilst reducing the trade deficit. By wearing one of these badges you can show your support and encourage others to consider buying British products and services to achieve the benefits mentioned.
