Product Description Ocean-Pure cubes are an ammonia, nitrite and nitrate reducing filter material that promotes the formation of bacteria colonies that accelerate biological filtration in the aquarium. Its ultra-porous structure provides the ideal environment for nitrifying bacteria responsible for removing ammonia and nitrites, and dennitrifying bacteria responsible for reducing nitrates. If placed in areas of high circulation, such as charging filters, it promotes nitrification thanks to its oxygen-rich environment. Placing them semi-buried in the substrate or in areas of the low circulation sump promotes dennitrification in oxygen poor environments, while a medium flow area will create a rich environment for both bacteria, performing both dennitrification and nitrification. Each cube can treat 20 to 30 litres of water, depending on the amount of fish in the aquarium.
