Kent's ongoing commitment to the reissue of quality southern soul continues with the first-ever UK CD compilation of the great Chimneyville recordings of 70s hit maker, King Floyd. I Feel Like Dynamite contains the A and B sides of all of King's Chimneyville singles as originally released between September 1970 and June 1974, plus the best tracks from his two original albums for the label. Many of these tracks have never been issued in the UK in any form, while more than 80% of them are making their domestic CD debut in this package. After making his debut with the #1R&B/Top 10 pop smash Groove Me , King Floyd was a regular presence on the charts throughout the period covered by this CD. As well as Groove Me many of his other hits have been sampled in recent years by hip hopper and reggae DJs alike (e.g. Shaggy's Boombastic , built around the riff from Baby Let Me Kiss You . Although known chiefly for a slew of ultra-funky A sides, the late King Floyd was also a first-rate purveyor of the deepest southern soul, as demonstrated here by cuts like Handle With Care , Please Don'tt Leave Me Lonely and his chart-making version of Otis Redding's Think About It .
