Hydrocotyle nova zealandiae is a hardy oxygenating aquatic plant that spreads by creeping stems to create a dense mat of fresh green, scalloped leaves. From April to June, it may also produce clusters of small, subtle greenish flowers, adding further charm to pond edges and shallow margins. Its ability to oxygenate water makes it particularly beneficial for fish and other pond life, while creating an attractive, natural look. Ideal for any size pond, this vigorous perennial is easy to grow and virtually maintenance free. It thrives in boggy soils or planted in pond margins with crowns submerged up to 25cm below the waterline.
