Product description
Hydrangea ‘Groundbreaker Ruby’ is a revolutionary dwarf Hydrangea paniculata and the first true groundcover form of its kind, producing a spectacular carpet of colour from summer into autumn. Large conical blooms emerge white before gradually transforming through soft pink to rich ruby red, creating a stunning multi-tonal display that can last for up to 100 days from July to November. This compact spreading shrub reaches only 40cm tall, making it ideal for borders, groundcover planting, patios, balconies, containers, hanging baskets, and small gardens. Easy to grow and highly disease resistant, it requires very little maintenance while offering excellent heat and cold tolerance. Its open flower structure also attracts pollinators, bringing added wildlife interest to modern garden spaces. Ultimate height: 40cm (16in). Ultimate spread: 70cm (27in). How to Grow Light: Full sun or partial shade in a sheltered position. Soil: Fertile, moist but well-drained non-alkaline soil enriched with compost or well-rotted manure. Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. Feeding: Apply mulch annually in spring to retain moisture and improve soil quality. Maintenance: Leave flower heads over winter for frost protection. Prune old stems in spring after new buds appear. Hard pruning may be carried out if required. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months). Decorative pots are not supplied.
