Product description
neat, dwarf variety which is smothered in rounded, cone-shaped flower heads from July to October. Enormous, white blooms are suffused with apple-green, virtually hiding the dark foliage beneath an extravagance of flowers. Hydrangea paniculata โLittle Spookyโ is naturally compact, making it perfect for patio pots and narrow borders. In larger gardens, this elegant, deciduous shrub makes a fine choice for mass plantings. Its pale flowers and autumn foliage will illuminate shaded borders and woodland areas. Height: 50cm (20"). Spread: 40cm (16"). Ideal For Patio, Cottage Gardens, Wildlife Gardens, Cut Flower Garden, Specimen Plant, Woodland Garden Hardiness Hardy Position In sun or semi shade, dappled shade Height Up to 50cm (20in) Spread Up to 40cm (16in) Ease of Growing easy Ease of Aftercare easy Hydrangea paniculata prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any non alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Water regularly until plants are fully established. Leave the faded hydrangea flower heads in place until the new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. If necessary, Hydrangea paniculata will tolerate hard pruning of the oldest stems to a few buds from ground level. This will also encourage larger flower heads to be produced. After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
