Amazon.co.uk Review The third series of the con drama Hustle finds the team in confident form. The premise remains pretty much unaltered, as a team of con artists plan and execute an increasingly elaborate and well-plotted collection of jobs. But the fun as always is in the execution, with a lively cast making the show hard to resist. Season three features six episodes, with some real highlights to be found. As always, the series finale is just brilliant, leaving you salivating for the fourth season, but surely the episode finding Mickey and Danny naked in the midst of London will go down as one of the best that Hustle’s ever managed to rustle up. Running richly through the duration of the series though are the trademark features that have made Hustle as popular as it is: tightly woven plots, carpet-pulling twists, clever writing and a cast who seem to be having a whale of a time making the show. Is series three up to the standards of the two that preceded it? Absolutely it is, with Robert Vaughn and Adrian Lester on top form, and even the likes of Richard Chamberlain dropping in too. In 'Price for Fame' the team plan to con a violent businessman out of a hundred grand by pretending to be music promoters interested in representing his young son. In 'The Henderson Challenge' Albert tries to resolve the rivalry between Mickey and Danny using a traditional American con man's challenge. Both are left naked in the middle of London and have six hours to make as much money as possible with nothing but their wits and charm to go on. The winner gets to lead the gang, while the loser walks away. In 'Ties That Bind Us' con artist JW3 (James Whittaker Wright III) arrives on the scene hoping for revenge on the bank responsible for ruining his grandfather - who sold fake gold mines on the stock market. The team step into action, with Danny posing as a City businessman, but it's not long before they come unstuck and realise their ally could be just as deceitful as they are. In 'A Bollywood Dream' an old friend of Albert's asks for his help in bringing down ruthless sweatshop owner Kulvinda Samar, who has caused his family and the Asian community a great deal of pain. The team discover he is a Bollywood fanatic and step into action with a classic movie investor con, but the plot is jeopardised when they become almost too good at their job. In 'The Hustler's News of Today' when Stacie's friend attempts suicide because of a slanderous story about her by a newspaper, the team, expectedly, decide to make a mark out of the newspaper. A false headline about the identity of the queen mother quickly intrigues the chief editor and his top reporter. However, the editor isn't the only one worrying about the truth of the story. Finally, in 'Law and Corruption' the crew are blackmailed by a policeman to catch Adam 'The Ghost' Rice, a famous thief.
