After the introduction of the SDS-Plus High End Professional SDS-Plus hammer drill bit with full carbide head (FCH), HiKOKI now uses this technology in the SDS-Max line. In a world where more and more reinforced concrete is used and SDS-Max hammer drill bits are characterised by increasingly more performance (joules), users require an increasingly higher life expectancy of the drills. These drill bits exceed the performance of conventional models in terms of drilling, speed, more precise holes and a significant improvement and increase the life of concrete with reinforcement. All this is done by the newly developed 4-cutter solid carbide head geometry and groove design. The solid carbide head is welded onto the steel body with a unique induction diffusion welding technology, which guarantees a homogeneous welding zone between the spiral and the drill head and longer life of the drill head under extreme conditions. This leads to less material stress in the drill head and at the same time makes it particularly heat-resistant at the highest drilling temperatures. The 90° pyramid shaped centring point makes the centre point highly robust and almost indestructible, it helps with precise positioning of the hole and prevents the drill from slipping over the surface. Thanks to the wide and open 4-spiral geometry, the drill material can be transported easily, resulting in less wear and higher drilling speed. The use of high quality alloy steel combined with the special hardening, soldering and surface treatment creates a high quality, robust professional tool. This completely redesigned drill results in 20% faster drilling performance and a 20% longer service life compared to conventional 4-cutting SDS-max hammer drills.
