The HI98331 soil test is a pocket tester specially designed to directly measure soil conductivity (CE) and temperature. With compact size, one-button operation and automatic calibration, the soil test is a great choice for taking direct conductivity measurements in the soil. Measure the EC mass of your soil with a soil conductivity test. The bulk electrical conductivity of the ground measures total conductivity. Total conductivity includes the EC of soil, air, and moisture in your sample. All these things carry charged ions that could read like EC. This reading is very useful, you can calculate your porous water conductivity and saturated extracted conductivity of the result. You need to know your water content to perform this calculation (how much water is in your soil). How to measure bulk EC mass with your direct soil tester, choose the test location. Rinse the test probe with deionized water and make sure it is dry. Check the soil and make sure the soil is moist. Use a ruler or auger to make a hole in the ground.
