Product description: Refractometers provide fast and accurate information on the sugar content of grapes and grape must, of berries, pomaceous and stone fruit and of unfermented mashes and juices made from them. After applying the sample to the prism, the special optics of the refractometer generate opposing light-dark fields. The boundary line between the two fields marks the sugar content of the sample. Internationally the scale % mas sucrose (Brix) is valid. The Oechsle scale is valid for fruit juices, grape musts and distilling mashes. The scale KMW-Babo applies to Austria and Italy. Measuring range: 0-44% Brix（mas Sacch）, 0-190°Oe and 0-38° Babo Resolution: 0.2% Brix（mas Sacch）, 2° Oe, 0.5° KMW Babo The sugar content is given in weight percent, i.e. one-degree KMW corresponds to one weight percent sugar in grape must. This allows a prognosis for the later wine quality. KMW: Klosterneuburger Mostwaage e.g. used in Austria to determine the must weight in degrees KMW.
