Free from sugar, lactose, yeast, gluten and wheat. Betaine Hydrochloride (HCL) is an acid form of betaine, a vitamin-like substance found in grains and other foods. Often used as a supplemental source of hydrochloric acid for people who have low stomach acid production (hypochlorhydria). Pepsin is an enzyme which helps breakdown food proteins in the stomach, making then much more digestible and therefore helping the stomach do its job much more effectively.
