Product Description For a Fifties era aircraft, the F-8 Crusader was far ahead of its time. It had remarkable variable incidence wings which allowed it to significantly increase lift for take-off runs. It was the first us aircraft capable of flying faster than 1,000 mph. Additionally, it was the last us fighter aircraft to be equipped with guns (4 20mm autocannons) as the primary armament. Crusaders fought over Vietnam and served with the French and Philippine navies as well.
