When all risk of frost has passed, plant in a sunny or semi shaded position in fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Alternatively, plant in patio containers in soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3. These tall plants will appreciate a support to protect their tall stems. Insert the support into the ground prior to planting and tie the stems in with soft twine throughout the growing season.
