The importance of effective hand washing has never been in doubt. Hand washing removes germs such as viruses and bacteria from the skin. This reduces the risk of ingesting the germs when you eat, inhaling them when you touch your nose, or passing them on to other people. Food Safety Direct are the official sole European importer for the GlitterBug range and have been selling these products since 2005. Our biggest customer is the NHS where it is used to train medical and ancillary staff in correct hand washing techniques as part of infection control measures. We also sell to schools, universities, local authorities, nursing homes and the food industry. Most people when they wash their hands do not clean all the areas properly and as such there are parts of the hands that any germs on the skin will survive the hand washing process. GlitterBug will highlight the areas missed when washing the hands and therefore allow the hand washing procedure to be modified. GlitterBug makes hand hygiene education interesting, fun, and memorable. The way it works, is a simple 3 step process: The student covers their hands in the Potion. They then wash and dry their hands as normal. When the hands are then placed under an UV lamp of the correct wavelength (in a darkened room) any areas not washed properly will glow - as if by magic!
