Gyokucho Takehiki is a compact but remarkably effective saw for gardening and gardening work, designed for cutting tough fibrous plant stems such as vines, roses and even bamboo cleanly and effectively without tearing the sensitive outer skin. The teeth of the Gyokuko saws are tough, extremely sharp and hold the edge for years (replacement blades are available when you finally need them). The blade is nickel plated for corrosion protection and a silky, almost friction-free cut. The handle is forged by aluminum, over-molded with a special textured plastic. Although incredibly light in weight, it feels solid, safe and purposeful, keeping grippy even when wet. The casing is sturdy and well-designed, the belt buckle is wide enough to fit a safety harness (either clamped or threaded through) and has a swivel fastener so it will not impede movement when climbing, squatting or bending. A touch lock mechanism prevents the saw from falling out but makes it easy to draw by simply extending your index finger as you remove the saw from the skis.
