- The GuineaLoft Model-A series features large 4x2 ft (120x60 cm) open cages with innovative lid and bottom options. Model-A is the original 10 in (25 cm) high cage with extra-thick 1/6 in (4 mm) acrylic panels and DIY OPTIONS. Model-A2 is the same size but uses standard 1/8 in (3 mm) panels for better affordability without sacrificing sturdiness, and it adds improvements such as optional beams for extra rigidity, a built-in door panel/tube connector, and new front panels for enhanced visibility. Model-A3 has the same features as Model-A2 but stands 16 in (40 cm) high, allowing for a second floor or accommodating larger pets like big rabbits and small dogs.

Its panels are permanently joined with specially designed steel brackets and screws, ensuring long-term stability. The founder of GuineaLoft developed this design after years of frustration with traditional grid and wire cages, which are unstable and prone to falling apart. Those cages rely on push-in clips that loosen or detach over time, requiring frequent tightening or even full reassembly.
- EFFORTLESS CLEANING - Traditional cages require weekly scooping, scrapingof a soiled bottom—followed by a full reassembly of the cage, since they fall apart even with slight movement, let alone during cleaning. Cleaning is the single biggest burden of guinea pig ownership. That’s why GuineaLoft invented the disposable bottom system. Now it’s simple: 1) lift the cage, 2) fold and toss the disposable bottom, 3) place the cage into a new bottom. - JUMP SAFE + CAT SAFE - Model-A and Model-A2 are jump-safe for most guinea pigs, as few are natural “jumpers.” Model-A3, at 16 inches high, is as tall as an open cage can reasonably be, but even this may not stop determined jumpers. If you know yours are jumpers, visit our store for an affordable translucent gauze cover that secures the top, giving you peace of mind while keeping costs low. Prefer a solid top? Choose our crystal-clear acrylic lid or our stainless steel grid lid. With any cover or lid, your cage also becomes cat-safe and dog-safe.

The Model-A series links easily with other Model-A cages as well as the Model-C and Model-P series, allowing you to build a play structure of blocks.
