Prepare for an epic journey through the perilous domain of Kilforth, a land filled with nefarious monsters, mysterious Strangers, and treacherous Locations, all battling against the encroaching Gloom! In Gloom of Kilforth, 1-4 players embark on a high fantasy card game with a distinct Gothic edge, guiding humble adventurers through a dark world of magic and peril. Over the course of a single month in-game, a deadly Gloom will descend upon Kilforth, which your Heroes must battle through to prove their worth, defeat an Ancient evil, and save the land from utter darkness. You'll visit strange places, encounter even stranger people, and strive to overcome powerful enemies in your mission to discover mysterious artifacts and mystical Spells. Players will follow their Hero’s tale from modest beginnings through an epic story to an exciting, climactic battle for the fate of the world. The game centers around The Sprawl, a huge city where intrepid Heroes begin their journey to fame and fortune, and various factions like the supposedly noble Order of the Rose or the terrifying Doom Guard vie for power. Presiding over the world is the ever-present Overlord, Masklaw. Gloom of Kilforth is playable in 1-3 hours (approximately 45 minutes per player), offering a deep and immersive narrative whether you choose to work individually or cooperate with fellow adventurers.
